Workshop Coordinator at Bracker’s Good Earth Clays

Eric Stearns will be the new workshop coordinator at Bracker'sI presented a workshop at Bracker’s Good Earth Clays in Lawrence, Kansas in June 2014. I was impressed with how the staff at Bracker’s handled all of the arrangements and coordinated the workshop so the participants got the most out of their experience. Recently, during a conversation with Cindy Bracker, she mentioned that she would entertain the idea of turning over most of the workshop coordinator duties to someone else – someone like me. She and I exchanged emails about possible duties and responsibilities for a workshop coordinator. It’s definitely more than just identifying an artist, asking for a bio & photo, and acting as an assistant during the workshop. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes things that happen to make a workshop happen as smoothly as it does at Bracker’s.

Bracker’s will be hosting a dynamic pair of artists April 25-26 (Adam Field and Forrest Lesch-Middelton) and I will be shadowing Cindy during the final preparations and assisting during their workshop. When everything goes smoothly, I will take over duties as workshop coordinator for future workshops at Bracker’s, including their fall workshop with Marcia Selsor, September 26-27.
