Alluvial Fan raku platter
Alluvial Fan raku platter by Eric Stearns of Stearns Ceramics. This electric lime green and crackle white raku fired piece premiered in Loveland, Colorado. Alluvial Fans are a common feature in canyon terrain as streams flatten and fan out into plains, and especially along mountain ranges like the Rockies in Colorado. The Alluvial Fan also reflects pressures and interpersonal sediment that builds up, only to fan out when the pressure is released.
